Just to share his modus operandi ...
A child crying will be speaking to you when you first answer the call, saying that he is in a scary place.
If you happen to have a son and sounds like the crying child, you will panic.
Then, a man will speak to you claiming that he has kidnapped your son.
He will ask for quick-to-obtain amounts of S$10,000 - S$20,000.
His trick is that you are not supposed to hang up your phone.
He was quite detailed, reminding you to bring your passbook and IC and pen and paper as well as ensuring that your handphone has full battery. He also asked what is the shortest time to go to the bank.
And you are supposed to walk to the bank with the phone on ...
