February 28th, 2011Have been receiving alot of phone calls from this number, hangs up whenever I answer. When I rang this number back i got a message about Citibank credit cards please call Citibank on 132484. When I ring Citibank they have no record of anyone making this call to me. They say this is not a Citibank phone number. They do not know who it is or how to stop the annoying phone calls. I have had Citibank remove all of my contact phone numbers from my file and still the calls keep coming!

CITIBANK with a credit card offer – Life Insurance. They are desperately trying to market and the reason for the hang ups…Indian call centre & it only activates if you speak. IF you answer and say nothing, the computer doesn’t register and it hangs up. If you say “hello” then it forwards to an Indian call centre to flog you products ***BEWARE*** they are on commission and is the reason why they are so persistent!

It’s a scam – They are debt collectors from CITIBANK that display a “phone number” knowing that most people don’t answer a “private number” when you call back they refer you to their debt collection department. they are indeed all contractors who work on a commission to recover debt and that that work out of an Indian call centre. They are very assertive to say the least – well so you would be if you were them and got paid a bowl of rice a day..

Hmmm Interesting, i’ve been getting these calls every hour today, and they wont leave a message. I only just had a credit card issued, so they cant possibly be chasing money already… haven’t even received my first bill!
